New Mexico News

This morning we did some interviews for the good ol' Land of Enchantment.
First we headed to KRQE News Channel 13 in Albuquerque. It was a really quick interview and we were in and out in no time.

The only problem was we had to leave at 3 AM to be there in time. Yeah I'm SO not a morning person so that was a toughy for me. It's a good thing it was a short interview cause we were both half asleep and were a little loopy at the time.

Then we did another one just across the street with Good Day New Mexico Channel 4 at 10 AM. It went better since we were both a little more awake. It was about a 6 minute interview and is supposed to air mid April.

Everyone there was so nice to us and loved the story too. It was a fun day and we got to do a little shopping which I'm always up for! :)
Thanks again Lupe!

Wedding Cake

My sisters think they are so funny! They are having a little too much fun with all this wedding planning that is going on. Check out Amanda's blog here.

Megan had the bright idea to do something similar to this.
We just have to do some experimenting to figure everything out.

Japanese TV Interview

This afternoon at Reed's house we had an interview with NTV a Japenese TV station. The filming crew flew from one of their offices in San Francisco to interview us.

The guy on the left is the director and only spoke Japanese so they had to translate everything for him. We laughed and had a good time with them all and look forward to seeing the show after it airs next month in Japan. It will be interesting seeing Reed and I with Japanese voice-overs hah. It will be on a show called "World's Most Amazing Videos".

It was cool having them coming to our hometown to interview us. They even gave us some buck-a-roos woo hoo!

Thanks Meiko for setting everything up!

My family

My family thinks they're so funny...

About 2 or 3 weeks before Reed and I were even engaged they were all making bets on when we would get married. One night while I was out with Reed they printed out 4 months of calender and everyone picked a date. Even my 1 year old niece and nephew did!

They hid it from me until Reed and I made it known that we were getting married. My sister Amanda was the lucky guesser, but I'm not quite sure what she wins. She'll have to take that up with the rest of the fam.
My dad had to be a smart alec and guess April Fools.

Da Bomb

Our friends loved "The Hamburger" too. Its pretty much the best place in ever.
Today while eating lunch with a couple friends at Si Senor the waitress says
"Sorry to be nosy but are you the girl that swallowed her engagement ring? Everyone is talking about it and they think you look like her."
My friends laugh and I tell her its me. It made my day.

Nerdiness Runs in the Family

(Nerdiness isn't a word but oh well)
The sweet shawl my sisters and I bought for my mom at good will. Yeah its pretty much the most amazing thing I've ever seen.

She's embarrassed to wear it outside of the house though. We're not sure why... I think she should make it part of her daily attire. Especially since we got such a bargain on it. Only $1.99! haha

Inn and Spa at Loretto

This unfortunate event has turned out to be quite fortunate for us. Inn and Spa at Loretto in Santa Fe, NM has offered us a free weekend honeymoon stay! They have been so generous to us about the whole thing and are so excited for us to come visit.

It has turned out to work out perfectly since we won't be able to go on our cruise right after we're married since it's hurricane season.

Stay at the Inn and Spa at Loretto for your next future stay in Santa Fe and experience the hospitality that they've given to us!

Its Set!

The date is set! Saturday, May 30th in the Monticello, UT temple.

When we called the temple to set the date they knew exactly who we were and were waiting for our call. hah The temple worker was so excited to hear from us, it was so cute.

Its us!

One of the best parts of this experience is when we see people that recognize us.

Sunday after we did the today show we were walking down the Houston airport and we walked by a couple 14 year old boys. One of them stops and stares at us and says "AHH you were on the NEWS!!" It took us a while to realize he was talking to us. He stares at us in awe and we just smile and laugh.

Monday night after The Today Show we went to a really nice steak house called Center Cut. The coat lady recognized us right away and started asking us questions. Then later while we were eating our dinner the manager comes by. He said he couldn't help himself and just had to come talk to us.

It makes us smile when we see peoples reactions when they see us and just about 99% of the time they ask "How in the world did you swallow that ring!"

Happy to be Home!

After a week long of excitement and travels we are happy to be home! We loved our fifteen minutes of fame but we were glad it was only fifteen minutes.

Its so fun coming back to our little town cause EVERYONE here knows the news and they are just as excited as we are to be home, asking us questions after questions about our trip.
Some of you said you didn't get to see the Ellen episode so I found someone that posted it on youtube.. The more we watch it the more we laugh. Hope you do too! :)

Ellen!

Hope you all got a chance to watch Ellen today! We loved every bit of it. Reed had never watched the show before, then after we we got off the show he said to me "She was so awesome and funny, I love her. I'm gonna watch her show all the time now!" So Reed is now Ellen's biggest fan. :)
We had such a cool experience with the whole thing and once we got on the show all nerves went away and had such a fun time with everything. It was weird to be there in person with Ellen after watching her on tv all this time. It just felt like a dream.

We had our own dressing room and everything with our name outside by the door, we felt special when we saw that. The show provided us with clothes to wear for the show since we flew straight from NY to LA and didn't have anything to wear. We tried on our clothes and both of our pants were too long so they measured them, then took them to be hemmed & steamed. Talk about awesome! Our room was filled with food and drinks for us, as well as cool gift bags with some Ellen stuff in it. After the show Chris (one of the guys that took care of us) told us to stock up on food and drinks so we filled our arms with as much stuff as we could carry. It was so funny walking out of the studio.

Before the show started we were talking how cool it was to be there and appear on the show. We said to each other that we didn't think we'd get a surprise or anything out of it but were just excited to be there. BUT we were soooo wrong!

That's right we got a 7 day honeymoon celebrity cruise!!

Oh my goodness we could not believe it! I wanted to call everyone I knew right away but Reed wouldn't let me so I just screamed right there in our dressing room.
WOW!
Before the show we told ourselves that it'd be the last show we did cause we were just so burnt out from everything, but after we got that honeymoon we were SO ready to go home and get back to normal life. The Ellen show definitely made this experience way better than we ever thought it'd be.

Once we got home we watched it with our family and just laughed our heads off. Ellen was so funny! The live audience and the energy on the show was just amazing. We loved every bit of it and wouldn't trade any of it for the world!

We will be on....

ELLEN!!!!

Lets just say it was pretty much the coolest experience ever! Everyone there was so nice and treated us so great!

This is Matt and Kara, the two coolest people that work for Ellen. They made the experience the best thing in the world! Kara is one of the funniest people I know, she was just so nice to us.

We loved every bit of it and had the funnest greatest most amazing time on the show. Ellen was so cool and just laughed and joked with us. The live audience made it so much fun too. Lets just say watch tomorrow and see for yourselves!!!

Ellen has topped everything we've done by far, we would not trade this for the world!

We're in Cali!

This morning we flew out of NY to LA. It was a good flight and gave us a chance to catch up on some sleep! Its so warm here and we love it after being in the freezing, snowy weather in NY.
Once we checked into our hotel we took a shuttle to Universal Studios. We bought some clothes since we've ran out, not expecting to come here after NY.

Are you wondering why we are in Cali?
Any guesses?
Stay tuned and find out!

Crazy Day

Today was an insanely crazy day. We woke up at 4:30 to be on the today show and have been going all day ever since. This is quite the experience and we still can't quite believe what is happening. We've had some people recognize us so far which is really WEIRD since we're just two nerds from Farmington New Mexico.

We ate at Center Cut Steak House. It was delicious! Although we were a little under dressed since it was such a nice place. We showed up in jeans and a t-shirt but all was well cause it was paid for by Inside Edition. We did a interview with them this afternoon after the today show and they were really great and treated us so nice. The show should air on Friday.

After dinner we FINALLY had some time to ourselves to shop and walk around New York. The Manhattan Temple is right outside of our hotel so that was our first stop. It was connected to a church and it was nice to walk in and warm up from the freezing weather.

We appreciate the comments from everyone and compliments. Today our blog has received over 3,800 views. WOW!

The Today Show

We just got done with The Today Show and it was awesome!! We met Meredith right when we got there and got to meet Matt later when we were about to do the show. Everyone was so nice and just loved our story. The show went a lot easier today since we were there in the studio. Matt made us feel comfortable while doing the show and we loved every minute of it. Hope you do too!

p.s. Thanks to our producer Matt G. for everything you've done for us! He's pretty much the nicest guy in New York.

We also got to meet author David Bach in the green room.

Them on Today

Kaitlin & Reed are in NYC!!

Here's a run down so far...

They got to New York City this afternoon and were able to do some sight seeing tonight before their BIG debut tomorrow! They will be picked up from their hotel around 6 am to head over to NBC studios then go straight to hair & make-up. They will do the segment twice. Once around 8 and I think after 9?! After that they have the rest of the day to sight see some more! They have already been recognized by a young kid in the Houston Airport! We are all very excited for Reed & Kaitlin! We can't wait to have them home to hear all the stories!

Good luck!

Houston Interview

This morning we did our first interview for The Today Show in a Studio in Houston. We had to wake up at 3:30 our time to get ready so we are both pretty exhausted right now. We are waiting in the Houston airport for our flight to New York where we'll be in the studio live tomorrow!

Talk about crazy, maybe we'll get a cool honeymoon out of this crazy engagement story somewhere down the road... we can only hope :)
